Case Study: The Explore Edmonds Blog

When I was brought on to write for ExploreEdmonds.com, I was thrilled to help visitors and locals learn more about the magical place I get to call home. I’m certainly biased, AND I knew I would learn a ton while teaching a ton, so I asked where I could sign and we were on our way.

I’ve written for Explore for over a year, covering topics from where to eat in the Edmonds International District to all the different ways visitors can get to and from Edmonds. We try to think about what makes Edmonds a special place to visit, and then I write about those things. We’ll never run out of topics, especially given how many events and festivals are always going on in town, many of which have been around for decades.

Let’s talk numbers

The point of these case studies, though, is to show how the P&A enthusiasm for our clients is shown in the daaaaata. In this one, you’ll see numbers from the 2024 Q1 marketing report.

Like this:

I love these numbers because they show our dedication to varied topics, consistency, and smart plays with paid social are bringing more of the right eyeballs to the website—and to town.

In the next report, I’d like to see an increase in session times. This would mean people are loving what they’re reading and staying longer on each page. That is my Q2 goal. Give them things they want to read, share with their friends, and come back to.

Check Out those attention spans

Another part of these numbers I find fascinating is how people aren’t spending any time reading at all anymore. 19 seconds to find their new favorite place to enjoy a cup of coffee in Edmonds? Wow!

Our attention spans have gotten insanely short, so taking the content I’ve already written, linking back to it in a future and complementary post (e.g. Edmonds brunches) would also be a fun experiment for my team and I to run. SEO loves a link-back!

And so do I.

Have you looked at your numbers lately?

While I consider myself first and foremost a deeply creative person, I do love data that reinforces those decisions. We wrote the guide to eating through the Edmonds International District based on data from last year that readers loved our Edmonds Kind of Dim Sum Guide. Just think about all the possibilities for your business!

Numbers don’t lie and our creative hunches mixed with SEO keyword research can create a whole lot of meaningful traffic for you. Start the conversation here, and we’ll get your website words working for you.
